[Vwdiesel] Banana Rabbit!!!

I drove it (more than 3 blocks!) tonight!

It was initially reluctant to start and I was getting worried. I eventually got it going, and was chagrined to see how much black smoke it was blowing, and how it wanted to die when I let off the throttle.

But I looked, and I had forgotten to tighten two of the injector lines at the pump. Tightened those, and it started right up, and sounds pretty good!

Drove it a bit, got up to about 65 once. I forgot how much of a slug a 1.6 NA 4-Speed Rabbit is, but it seemed about on par with my old one I guess. Did seem to blow some smoke, but I'm optimistic that once the super old fuel gets burned up and I get fresh in there that will help both these things a bit.

I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of vibration/wobble in the steering and driving overall. The front shocks are shot, but we'll see if I ever do anything about that... :)

There is a possibility of it needing a head gasket, I noted some bubbles going into the reservoir though it was only shortly after starting it, so hopefully that is just some air bleeding out of the system.

Now I think the thing to do is drive it a bit and see what bugs need worked out.
