[Vwdiesel] Am I the only one?

OK, so I'm late to the party. I'm driving an 89 Jetta NA in Ohio with 99k
on the clock. Barely broken in. I like the classic lines but wish the door
handles were more robust and the noise levels lower. And I don't give a
hoot about what people think or don't think when they see me go by. The car
has zero rust, nice paint and appropriate stock wheels. Yes, I like the way
it steers but the ride is too harsh. The headlights are less than mediocre,
marginal really. And I wish the AC worked....maybe I'll have that system
restored this spring. It would probably run close to a thousand dollars to
have it all replaced and upgraded from R12.

And I am discouraged at the rising cost of diesel fuel...above 4 dollars a
gallon.

I do seem to remember that my 85 Jetta TD had less of a harsh ride than the
89. They both run on 13 inch wheels, but the 85 had a much softer
ride....or I have become less tolerant in the last 10 years. Very likely it
isn't the car, but the driver.

So, there you have it. I'm gonna drive it anyhow and probably enjoy every
minute of it.
