I had exchanged a lot of stuff with him in the past. He actually lived near
where I am, 3 or 4 miles in the 1950s, and we had mutual acquaintances in
the area. I did not arive here until 1961, and by that time he had headed
west in his derelict land rover, so I never met him face to face..

He was a man of great mechanical skill.

I sent him a disk of pictures of the Vimmy bomber project, which I actually
laid hands on, assisting in the fitting of the engine cowlings here in
Ottawa, before it flew to the UK.

Both of us being "retired" amateur airmen, we had many tales (and lies) to
tell each other.

I will miss him too.
