[Vwdiesel] stick stuck in cylinder

The thought occurred to me that the stick might be stuck in the intake or exhaust valve so you might try turning the engine back a bit. On a two cylinder lawn tractor engine I once found the cause of a miss to be a small nut that must have fallen into the intake manifold as it was lodged under the intake valve holding it open. If you can't get the stick out, you will probably have to pull the head.
 As a side note, I would suggest all posters indicate where you live in the USA, Canada or elsewhere. Sometimes, the problems you have may be climate related.
