[Vwdiesel] RIP 1982 Rabbit 1.6 n/a

Well I had a bit of a stroke of luck.  My son, the mechanic, had to replace a fuel tank on a Ford chassis cab.  Seems that the tank had been coated internally with something that came apart in the presence of diesel.  Lots of shiney flakes to block the strainer and cause the lift pump to burn up.  The took the old tank off and he has brought me 15 gallons of diesel so far, which I have filtered and it is ready to use.  Should get a few more (another 10 or so) on Sunday.  25 gallons of free diesel not that is a great Christmas gift.  Hayden
