Yep,
Always use a meaty hammer to strike, and a twice as meaty receiver held on
opposite side. Striking horizontally is the way to go which actually gives
an upward thrust to the taper... My dad always seemed to be able to shift
the stubborn ones with less blows :o(
Drill and tap and insert a 1/4" grease nipple and forget changing anyhow....
