[Vwdiesel] minor tragedies--A4 suspension work

Yeah, that's how. I use the big hammer still and small one swinging technique, but the best VW mechanic I have ever seen or heard of (with whom I had the tremendous privilege to work for two years) did this with two equal size hammers, both swung freely and hitting the opposite sides of the arm PRECISELY together. He made it look easy, but for obvious reasons, I do NOT recommend anyone else trying to do it that way...at least not for the first few hundred tapers.

The prescribed way is to use a "puller" that actually pushed on the end of the stud. I don't know if you can still buy them, so I protect my pair (one ball joint and one tie rod size) furiously. Pickle forks are a ultra crude way of doing it.
