Bwahahahah!!! Stress on the rods? Don't racing engines run up to 13:1
compression on engines "designed" for 9:1?

TS rings come as a full set if you buy theirs. Their claim is lower
cylinder
wall pressure as well, for lower wear, less friction, etc. You can buy
rings
and send the second ring in to have it machined for their two piece style,
which is what gives the total seal. Cheaper but you also can't send in
"too good" of rings or they'll send them back! Won't do a chromed second
ring, has to be cast.
I wanted to keep all 3 TS rings but when the gap had grown to .054" in a
little
over 10K miles. The extra gap in the second ring wasn't great but with the
TS design, it didn't let through any more blowby than before so I kept it
through
3 sets of rings on that engine.
