[Vwdiesel] sunroof leak

I've been fighting a sunroof leak for a few months in my '00 Jetta.  
First was after a hurricane blew through and I had standing water in the 
front footwells.  I've taken all the obvious steps of squeezing the 
duckbill nipples in the front doors, cutting off the duckbill nipples, 
and finally pulling and putting sealant on the hoses where they hook up 
to the sunroof drains.  Still leaks in the rain.  Now, with the 
headliner dangling, I have water running from somewhere in the sunroof 
down the headliner onto the driver's seat.  This is not an improvement.  
Anyone delved deep into the sunroof assembly?  I may have to pull the 
works and figure out what the problem is.  Not looking forward to that.
