[Vwdiesel] removing a/c from 91 Jetta. WAS: Alt Bracket?

AND it all falls apart..

Turns out the eco uses 13mm belts while the non-a/c uses 10mm. Tried
the 13mm pulley from the diesel van, but couldn't get it to line up.
Don't see why it shouldn't??

Ended up switching all the pulleys to '85 Jetta non-a/c style with the
older 65A alt.

Turbovans 90A adapter does NOT work on the a2 bracket.

BUT, the existing a2 alt bracket IS the same a/c and non-a/c!

AND, Jetta 90A alts and Vanagon 90A alts look IDENTICAL, except for the
size of the pivot hole (small on the rabbit/van, large on the a2.)

Good news is a Rabbit should be able to run a Vanagon 90A with the
turbovans adapter.

Don't know about rabbit bracket for a2 unless it's got the PS support at
the bottom??

Now I gotta figure out an adapter for the a2 bracket. Shouldn't be TOO
hard. That and the pulley seems like it's not perfectly lined up.
Close, though!

Will in Alaska.
