  I'm seconding that.  The rod journal may not even be damaged!  The 
shoulders 
on the crank look to have taken the hit against the rod.  Yup, pull the 
head, pop 
the piston out of there, drop in a good used piston and rod, some bearings, 

CHECK THE TORQUE on the rest of the rods, check the mains, put it back 
together!  :-)
  I want to see a pic of the whole rod once you get it out.  Usually the 
caps 
are torn off.  I'm curious just what failed there and why.
