This is  Milton back from Philippines. Getting my 81 diesel TD pickup 
motorhome back on  road.  I have an annoying very metallic  rattle that 
disapperars  soon as I apply brakes.  The noise seems to come from drivers side. The  
front wheels/discs/calipers are from 14 inch Jetta...Are anti rattle clips  
adjustable? They dont look like it. Any other idea where this rattle comes

It's usually the anti-rattle clips/springs.  They're usually  missing.  
Otherwise 
I've found it'll be the top of the strut rattling up/down in the  mount.  
The spacer 
seems to somehow be slightly too long.  After that check tie rod end  and 
ball 
joint.
  Try holding steady on the throttle and just barely applying the  brake 
with your 
left foot.  If it vanishes with the slightest pressure, it's still  somehow 
the anti 
rattle clips.
