I've commented before on the Giles pump since I have one installed in my 91
Eco turbo diesel jetta. Giles is the master at rebuilding and performace
improving these pumps. If you can afford to spend the money it is money well
spent. I have had mine on my car now for 70k miles with no issues and I got
all the power I need. Even running my stock KKK14 turbo at 15psi boost. The
other major improvement is opening up the exhaust. I have a 2.5" pipe from
the turbo back.

Roger, you will have to let me know what you think of your Gilis pump. I
would like to get one some time and brother is getting his done here right
now and hopefully back soon for his 1.6 NA engine

I would put some ARP head studs in the ALH Dave and see if that would
tighten things up. It has for others on tdiclub. You just take one bolt out
and torque down all the way and repeat till all are replaced. Too bad they
don't make the ARP studs for the BEW engine yet.

For all of you out there Frank06 on tdiclub now has stage 2 cams for BEW
engines (which also fit in to BRM engines. They are from Hilcrest cams down
south somewhere. I guess Colt cams out of Canada is having a supplier issue
for there Billet cams as they are too thin to have the stage 2 grind to them
and the Hilcrest place says they are ground wrong anyways (a peeing contest
I won't get into). I have looked at my cam and brothers and while there is
"some" wear I we are going to play it by ear and inspect before each oil
change as they aren't really wearing much if at all so far. I think we were
just over worried. That will let some others test cams out as well that
really need the cams.

As a side note I now live in Marshfield WI instead of Sheridan WY. I am
working at a Land O Lakes Cheese plant instead of a coal mine now. So who
ever is out this way-Hi. I don't have an address yet other then The Park
Motel.
