Teh flywheel is plug and play from teh Quattro and any other 5-cyl Audi. You
will have to add a pilot bearing to the crank.
They are pretty similar engines to the TD 4-cyl's, just with an extra
cylinder. Also, some of the 5-cyl diesels use a pump that is run off the
back of the cam, which will require you to change that belt along with the
TB when it's due. Don't know if the TD's are that way, but the non turbos
are.
Teh cam is unique to teh 5-cyl diesel, and I'd assume the specs are
different turbo to non-turbo. So, that may be the hardest part of the swap,
is finding another good cam. I think I have one from a non-turbo, but it
would take some searching to find it. The diesel's are, of course different
from the gassers in that the cam is tapered on teh front, just like a 4-cyl
diesel. The Gassers have a woodruff key that locates the gear, and where it
slides onto the cam is the same diameter over the mounting surface.
BTW, I'm a bit jealous. Would love a 5-cyl TD Quattro!!
HTH,
Tony
