well, that is what I kind of thought was happening when I would see higher resistance.

I can try that route as well and see how it goes, as it is an easier route.

I read about testing those things once with an ohm meter.  I think the procedure involved wadding a couple bits of aluminum foil and sticking the probes in them.  Then you hold the pieces an inch or two apart and slide them along a line slowly.  As long as the resistance reading stays low, then you have a good section of line between the bits.  If you come to a section with high resistance, then you know the current is having to flow through the bus bars (as mentioned) instead of directly and there is a break between the two probes.  Look very closely at the lines for any signs of scratching in the paint, or burned looking spots.

Seemed like that article alsomentioned using the foil ball to remove surface corrosion on the line to help it heat up better.

OK, this thing has been out for weeks and I need to get it back in as the van is only in a car port with open end.  Plastic on the hole, but.

I have an old battery that I can do the test will, will put the glass outside in the garage and bring it into the warm house later tonight to test.
I would really like to get it fixed outside of the van and put the new tint on in the house on work table, then rubber and put it back in.

thanks

Now,  having trouble finding a good way to test, ohm meter does not seem to
be the  way and I do now want to hook a battery directly up to the glass, I
do not  think that is a good idea.

Find a walk in freezer or chest freezer big enough (I'd let you use  the
walk in at the pizza place if you were a few thousand miles closer!) then
hook up a battery to it.  They run on 12V, if you're concerned that too  many
are bac an it'll burn (which doesn't seem to happen) then use a 6V or maybe
the 6V setting on a charger, or a semi bad 12V battery.  The bad lines
should show up pretty quickly as they don't burn off any condensation or frost,
after putting the glass back into room temp.
