[Vwdiesel] lower compression?

Brian,

I frequently have the Machine Shop mill the tops of the Pistons in NA
engines to get the Protrusion exactly the same for all Four Pistons.  Makes
for a nice running engine.

The only thing with TD Pistons is that they're usually coated with
something.

Hi Folks;

                I would like to lower the compression ratio a little in my
1.6 turbo diesel. I'm wondering if I can take the pistons to my local
machinist and have him chuck them in a lathe and take a few (as yet
undetermined ) thousands off the top of the pistons. Has anyone ever done
this? ? ?
