[Vwdiesel] lower compression?

Brian,
Look on vwdiesel.net for some discussion of putting a 1.9 head
on the 1.6. It can be done but requires a metal head gasket and
one of the coolant or oil passages to be blocked off.
The 1.9 head will lower compression the amount you are looking
for as well as flow substantially more air. The guys that
have built these engines call them frankenmotors.
A thot I've had fm time to time is to cut valve pockets in the
piston surface so as to allow a bigger cam to be used. Keep us
posted.
