RR= Rolls Royce.  Continental kit is what you could  get on a Lincoln 
Continental.  You also 
see it on the 56 T-Bird.  Where the tire is mounted  semi vertically, above 
the rear bumper.

do you think the engine  will be too weak for the extra 300-400 pounds. the 
tires are taller on a  beetle making it harder on engine too right?




A VW diesel should only weigh about 300 to 400 lbs complete.  I  can lift 
one well enough for 
anybody here that's seen me, would, know it can't be 400 MORE than a VW air 
 cooled!  :-)
  I weighed my long block with clutch and it was right on at  200lbs.  I 
figure an air cooled 
is right around that weight, if I were to guess.
 
  Tires may be taller but gearing is likely lower to accommodate  them.  
Still probably too low 
geared in most cases, to be best with a diesel.  Probably not bad  though, 
unless you go with 
a TD, then higher would be more better.
