[Vwdiesel] 1980 Rabbit Yellow Dot Pump.

Still trying to find out more re this funny pump. 
I know it was a 107A but was it not coded further other than a splodge of paint, so that not all 107A's are yellow dot?
Why did Bosch not stamp the pump if this is the case? 

It's internal pressure to rpm gradient was steeper that other pumps, and the advance spring was apparently a softer 'green' one adding to the hydraulic advance, then there is the strange rumour on the GTD sit of requiring 180bar injector break pressures to compensate for the 1.15mm advance. I think this is mere hope than fact.
 
Was there an EPA fuelling issue around 1980, or indeed change of fuel, or an attempt at a performance upgrade? THat would be in brochures wouldn't it?
Any owners of OEM stuff out there. Did the handbooks cover this issue  with a change in economy?
