You mentioned it's been up on stands for weeks - that might just be enough
to allow gravity to drain out the fuel system.
Dunno about the Focus but some cars will run the fuel pump if you cycle the
key.
Actually, according to this article on changing the fuel filter:

you have to cycle the key three times to prime the system, so maybe try
that.
And speaking of the fuel filter... ever changed it? Maybe Murphy is rearing
his head here, and it's a totally unrelated problem (which is how it usually
works for me!).
