I have ordered a few things from him and had the same back order issue.  I do not remember what it was be he eventually sent my money back and I gave up.
I will say his web sights are a great source for parts searching and getting part numbers to order elsewhere.

I have ordered from him several times over the past couple of years. Never bought from him off ebay, but ordered from one of his sites. It has mostly been things like switches, door handles, gasket sets, etc, and have been happy with most of what I got. The problem I have is things getting back ordered. I ordered a tach and a couple of valve guides (to make bushings out of) in Jan and have not received them yet!!!! I do email them a reminder every now and then and get the usual response that they don't know when they will have them in stock. Neither item was shown on the site to be out of stock when I ordered.
