[Vwdiesel] 1982 diesel caddy fuel breather hose

Possible to enlarge the hole through the body?  (I am drawing a blank on what it looks like.)

Or possible to heat the fuel line you have found to be able to stretch it through the hole?

What is a good substitute for the plastic breather hose with spring that connects to the fuel tank and the filler neck.
Specs call for 15.5 mm I.D. and 2.5 mm walls. Everything I have found that is fuel resistant has walls that are too thick to go thru the hole in the body.
The old line had shrunk about 2 inches and was pulled off the filler neck. The original part number is 533 201 153 and is probably sold outside the U.S. Found same number for 1992 caddy in europe. All suggestions appreciated. ken
