Not to change the topic, try fighting a traffic camera ticket.
2 camera's at 1 intersection in Bricktown, NJ generate over 500,000 A MONTH in fines.
 
A win win for all, township and the sub-contracting company that runs the camera's
I wish I could have cashed in on that deal.
 
This is only 1 intersection folks!
 
 
 In all, $673,627.50 in fines were collected by the two cameras, said Pezarras.  The township brought in $530,066.50 in revenue for itself. Each month, the first $17,800 in fines is paid to Arizona-based American Traffic Solutions Inc., which outfitted the intersections with the cameras. The installation and engineering required in the process of getting the cameras set up was paid for in full by ATS, not Brick taxpayers, Pezarras said. If there is a month where $17,800 in fines is not collected, Brick sends ATS the amount of fines generated that month – the township cannot lose money on the cameras.
“So far, there seems to be a lot of people who run those two lights, so it hasn't been an issue,” said Pezarras.

Someone in this thread lamented that nobody fights these ridiculous tickets.

Here is someone who did in Junction City, Kansas (about a half-hour drive away from me).

Basically, she got a $55 parking ticket from the city on private property (apartment parking lot) overnight for parking on the line.  Next to her own car.  She parked like that to make room for a moving truck that was using the next spot over.  Apparently that night, the city ticketed a bunch of others in the same lot.  She didn't feel that they could/should ticket people on private property, and the court of appeals agreed.

about 15 over and about having his windows rattled off by people flying

When he got pulled over, the officer asked if he knew why and he said 
it must be because he was from out of State!  The cop told him to  follow 
him to the station, quite angrily.  Uh, what other reason would you  pick

And  before anybody gets worked up about excessive speed... A) I've
slowed down  a lot since then, and B) I was only going that fast
because I was following  a guy who was going even faster. :)
Unfortunately, when I asked why he  didn't stop the other guy, the cop
said "what other guy?".  :)




A friend got pulled over on Blewett Pass, as he was slowing down, to  pull 
over (he'd had a 44oz super caffinated drink (Caff Pow?  ;-)  and  there 
were 
no rest stops, just forest roads so...
  Wrote him up for doing 72 in a 60!  He asked him how fast that  truck 
that 
passed him was going?  The officer said something like "47 Miles per  hour!"
Going to court didn't even get it dismissed!
