Yeah, I've had that on a grain truck, and after getting shall we say,
somewhat involved in it... and getting nearly to the point of rebuilding
the motor and tranny in the process "just to see if that makes a difference"
(dash apart, steering column apart, signal stalk totally gone through, floor
kick plates off, under cab cover plates out, wiring harness exposed from cab
to rear, change/check all the bulbs, clean ALL the grounds, ALL the turn
signal lenses off, rewire under the hood from firewall to front flashers....
it was the flasher itself.
To make matters worse, after a day of all this, I'm putting it all back
together when my Pop comes out from town, looks on for a minute, says, "did
you try changing the flasher?"
"uh, so where were you this morning Dad?"
Learning all the time.
In my defence, it was some time ago, I was still wet behind the ears,
probably with coolant.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Turn signal erraticness
Today my Rabbit Pickup turn signals started blinking to an odd speed, then
wouldn't blink, now flickers. Bulbs are all good, 4-ways do the same and
at the same time, I'd started hearing a relay fluttering, under the dash.
It was the TS relay.
Anybody have something similar happen? Experience is a great time saver
over start-from-scratch troubleshooting!
TIA
Loren
