I think Travis' is linked in one of the two that were originally posted.  Cause I opened that thread too.  


I think the reason I didn't find much in my tdi club searching is because I was looking in the MKIV forums, not the upgrades area.

Travis, in your write up you say that angle is needed instead of box tubing 
because "the right side isn't fully square."  Were you talking about the opening to the frame here?  


Did you basically make your own box tubing with two pieces of angle iron?  That's what it sounded like others were saying.

Bought the cheapest receiver off ebay, used the mounts for the bumper (don't rely on those alone please) and some angle all the way into the pockets. I also have a thread for a 05 and 09 jetta wagons. Brother made them cleaner with each one but it is about 9 hours of work from start to finish to do it all. But the hitch you could hang the car with now-zero movement. Build at your own risk since it isn't DOT approved but it is much stronger then the ones that are premade for the cars.
