[Vwdiesel] Hitch

I have the hidden hitch with receiver shown here on my Jetta TDI. You have drill 2 large holes to install. My back hatch lid that covers the full size spare tire and small luggage area does not sit down 100%, it is bumped up a tad (no pun intended) because of the flat top bolt that is used to bolt the hitch to the under carriage of the car. That is not a deal breaker, I would buy the same hitch again. Pretty easy to install. I have had no issues with it. has not rusted much at all with just factory paint coatings on it. It has been on my car for 8 years now.
The euro spec. gooseneck ones are cool, but for sure more expensive and no receiver as said, you get only a ball stalk.

Loren, I don't think you're thinking of me... maybe another Tad? :)
Dave, I believe you have three options. There's the bolt-through
spare tire well variety, which seems to be what domestic vendors
offer. There's also the euro-spec OEM option, which replaces the
bumper supports and gives you an odd (for the US) gooseneck (no
receiver).
Then there's this: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=309617
