Hi Tim ;
This may not help but this is what I'm running. Most 15 inch tires
are pretty wide to fit under the fenders of our older cars. If your 15 inch
rims are narrow you could probably find some skinny tires meant for old VW
Beattles. I have a set of 15 inch by 7 inch rims with 185-65-15 tires on my
1981 Rabbit pickup which has lowering springs and Bilstien race shocks on
front. The fenders are rolled. The tires just clear the struts. No room for
chains. My fresh rebuilt 1.6 diesel with an FF tranny handles them fine.

Ok with all of this talk of tires, this may or may not be on track regarding
tire size.
I have a 1985 jetta diesel that has the stock 13" rims, however I have a set
of 15" rims I would like to run on this car that bolt up fine, they
currently do not have tires on them, I was only given the rims. What would
be the best method of determining the correct tires for the rims?
Any advice would be welcome
Tim
