[Vwdiesel] New to me tdi

Just got home. A little over 460 miles on the tank from Colorado Springs. I made right at 39.5 MPGs, but that was driving 80-85, with a roof rack, strong side winds and as I filled up at home I noticed one tire looked a bit low. So I think the potential for higher MPG is strong.
I think the suspension may be a bit worn out (it is a bit soft feeling) but not really unexpected. The only real annoyance is the radio seems wonky-sometimes the volume dial does nothing, sometimes it works but still doesn't seem to get very loud and all the adjustment knobs (bass, fader, etc) don't do anything.
I'm hoping I can pull it out and clean them up with some electrical cleaner and that'll fix that.

I have rejoined the dieseling world! Just bought an 02 golf 5 speed.
Flew to Denver to pick it up, visiting some friends in Colorado springs
tonight, and headed back to Manhattan tomorrow.
