Welcome to the 81 rabbit club. I know how you feel. I spent a good summer while in Gillette WY fixing anything that could be replaced on my rabbit so I wouldn't have surprises. If it moved or held something that shouldn't fail it was worked on and/or replaced. Haven't had many issues do to doing that. You can either through dollars at it or it will nickle and dime you to death. My truck is still like that as I bought it where it had been "gone through". Enjoy the car. I still drive mine in the summer months and some people give me heck-others the thumbs up. And as a benifit I have hobbiest plates (similiar to collector plates) so I don't have to re-register every year anymore. After two years it pays off. See if your state has a similiar program.
