[Vwdiesel] stranded

Since some of these are not VW related.

I was partial stranded once with a friend driving back to the base from Va
when we got a flat and turns out he didn't have his jack in the car. This
was a 78 Cutlass.  Couldn't get a hold of anyone and of course at the time I
didn't have AAA. Lucky we were at in a small town at a small gas station,
turns out the local police had the same type jack in their car and let us
use it.

Another time was traveling to my parents house in Orlando Fl from here in NC
in my 68 impala. I was cruising down I-95 through Georgia and I kept seeing
sparks fly out from under my hood. It was around midnight. When I got gas
about 2 more  hours of driving it wouldn't start. Turns out my alternator
was toast and very hot.  Again I was lucky that I was in a small town and
one of the other patrons at the station new the local Car Quest owner and
they got me an alternator.  Once installed and a jump start I was back on
the road, after a two hour ordeal.
