I forgot the funny part!
Since it is Halloween, and I work with kids, I didn't want to wear a costume but also didn't want to be a fuddy duddy. So I just took a red sharpie and drew a trickle of blood coming out of my mouth before I left for work. I was just going to say I was a dead case manager or something.
So when I got out of the car, the lady who hit me saw the red and freaked out, thinking I was hurt! So did the police officer when he arrived. Ha ha.
But, yeah, nobody was hurt. So that is good.
I'll be interested to see the frame after the bumper is pulled off and inspect how the trailer hitch really held up, if the frame tore, bent or anything else because of it. I imagine the bumper would look pretty similar with or without that hitch, as those shocks aren't intended to to much for any impact over like 5 mph.

That'll buff right out!
Honestly, I'm sorry that happened to you. If someone hit my Golf and damaged it like that, I think I'd combust. Good luck with the repairs!

My coffee mug pinwheeled, spraying coffee on the dash, inside of the windshield, and headliner before wedging itself, right side up, between the passenger seat and door pillar. Weird.
