If the MC  is going to the floor, it's not the booster.

Having said that, the mating of the MC shaft to the booster receptacle 
is important. He will look for that if the "4 ports plugged" test fails.
If the "4 PP" test fails, the trouble is INSIDE the 'unrepairable' booster.

The slow collapse with applied pressure suggests its after the MC.

Another thing. there is a gasket between the booster and MC which can 
fall off when you remove the MC. It is both a gasket for vacuum seal, 
and a critical spacer between the MC and the booster, which affects the 
"Off" position of the MC plunger, and can cause some dramatic events if 
the plunger does not retract to the "relief" position on brake release. 
Get it right!
