i am putting a mk2 set up, 1.9td engine into a b4 (93 passat). this will work if i change the rear motor mount and use an 02a manual trans and cable shifter.so this is the trans i am looking for, it must come from a diesel or 4 cyl gasser motor, not the vr6 manual.
the other route is to use a 020 trans which is longer and thus requires some modification to the driver side frame. not much needs to be cut an rewelded to accommodate the 020 trans. i have some other things to get ready and so was going to see if i can find the correct trans first. 
i also will need to use the vr6 axles (the 93  passat is the vr6 base) swapping on the 90mm cv joint from the mk2 axles.  
I have seen one 02a trans for sale locally though am a little skeptical of the condition.
