I have the tool from Metal Nerd to do this change, just wondering if that is something I can do in the car without having to put the alternator in a vise.
Travis, I think you have changed one.
After I get the Golf back on the road, that is the next thing to change in the Wagon to try and get rid of that singing noise......
PS, need to vent. I just love the clearance you have when taking the right side motor mount off the block on the BEW motors, I would guess the other engines models with Injection pumps are just as tight. It is crazy, how much stuff you have to get out of the way to get things off, this is while the motor is being held up by a small jack and block of wood, with front of car up on ramps.
The engine bay was super dirty and some oil leakage from a broken clip on the boost hose connection at the intake manifold, just before the EGR flap valve.
Cleaned those as well and the other EGR valve thing, super gunked up.
Thank GOD you only have to do this job once every 100K miles.
Timing belt, water pump, idle pulley roller, and TB tensioner.
