[Vwdiesel] resetting digital clock

Does any one know if there is a way to reset the digital cluster clock from a 24 hour clock to a 12 hour clock without replacing the clock?  I was under the impression that there is some magic button pushing that you can do to do the reset but I don't know duration etc.  TIA  Hayden
