Last ones I put on my Rabbit ('80) were Boge. Only issue was that the new caps didn't fit (my experience is that they almost never do) and I had to take the original caps to a lathe and have them opened up either .020" or .040" to fit over the Boge cartridge.
Frankly I've never noticed any big difference in any shock I've used. I had CoFap on it before, which Jake was hugely impressed by their handling vs cost but one failed before all that long. Of course I had similar luck with the KYB's on the pickup. One failed in a fairly short time but I couldn't find the reciept. :-P

I recently installed a set of 4 of these Gabriel Ultra shocks on my rabbit,
bought them at AutoZone and they aren't just firm, they are hard as a
ock. I should have pulled these off and returned them, but after
nstalling all four, I wasn't in the mood to do all over again. Please be
arned if you want hard shocks, and I'm not sure were talking performance,
ust buckboard hard. then these are for you. BTW my rabbit is stock with
tock wheels and new tires. If some one has a recommendation for a decent
et of stock type shocks please let me know.
hope this helps someone on the group
Steve
