  How about building my "Deutchland Diesel?" (thusly named by Lee I believe.)    Take a regular VW diesel, machine intake ports somewhat midway into the bore and braze an insert in to seal off the water jacket (hard part is figuring the correct porting.  Add a supercharger and a manifold and you have the intake.  Rework a cam so that intake and exhaust valves are both running on "identical" exhuats lobes so it has twice the exhaust valve area.  Different cam belt and a crank gear that's twice the size and tada!  A two stroke VW diesel!  :-D

hey everybody.....
seems a like a lot of work but ......im in a cad program  and also a metal 
culpture and casting program at my school here in taos nm.whats more beautiful 
han a volkswagen mechanical diesel?.. . 
 what ive been working out t with my professors which involves doing a cad model 
f an engine block , using our 3d printer  in conjunction with sand casting  and 
ome of the machining students to  make  a block just for the learning process 
f it. while we were at it were were also gonna look at the zany idea of a split 
lat8 1.6 td engine. ala air cooled style.  even if it is too far fewtched idea  
till might be fun to see what everyone has to say about it..
 so if anyone has any  scrap 1.6td or even 1.6 na blocks let me know and maybe i 
an use them for the measuring?? i have two 1.5's but considering how hard it is 
o find extra parts for them plus they run good still i don't want to sac them 
ust yet in the name of a project that might go south...
also in the works of pulling my fox wagen engine and trans to hopefully some day 
et that a diesel in there too. 
im in northern new mexico and can get to southern colorado relatively easy..
