[Vwdiesel] Diagnosis help/confirmation needed

The old compressor was fully charged, then changed the expansion valve, recharged and no better (about 50psi low side and 70 psi high)  This time I put in the used compressor, new o-rings and put about 10 to 12 oz in.  (a bit less than half a charge).  The compressor was running but didn't develop any suction or pressure (pretty much 50 psi and 50 psi, hard to accurately tell low pressures on the high side.)  Put the correct amount of correct oil in too.  Compressor was running the whole time since cutout is about 25 psi.

When my coolant was low...nothing..naughta..the a/c guy told me about on 
his 96 Passat if the charge is just a bit down the compressor ..it no 
orkee...so he recharged it fully and voila...it works like Lou Graham 
inging COLD AS ICE!

 Tests other than a variant of a sphygmomanometer, was to seperate the lines 
rom the expansion valve and do a physical "feel" of the suction and pressure 
rom the compressor.  Light pressure from my pinkie held back the pressure from 
he compressor.

 Diagnosis:  I feel that I had a compressor go bad and Murphy came through and 
ade sure I got another one with pretty much the same problem.  Before I order 
nother one, I just wanted to get a consensus on my diagnosis or if someone sees 
omething I missed...  When it's obvious what the problem is, and it's the same 
roblem you just fixed, I get a little leary that I'm missing something.
