[Vwdiesel] AAZ and alt questions

No fuel pump is needed. Just a bigger 1.6 NA with a turbo bolted on basically and .3 L bigger. I do have hand fuel pumps near the fuel filters on both rabbits so assist with priming the fuel filters. Just a boat motor fuel pump is all that is. Low pressure electric one won't hurt though either.

I would advise a couple things to look into with the AAZ. Possibly milling the crank to accept the TDI sproket and/or putting a clutched Alt pulley on. The AAZ has known failures of the keyway falling on the sproket. I don't have AC nor power steering so there is less stress on it plus I did the clutched pulley which makes the engine MUCH more smooth at idle. I have the 1.6NA in the truck and AAZ in the 4 door car. I will keep those that way as I like how really simple the 1.6 even though it is fairly weak compared to the 1.9's.

As far as the 90 amp on the 1.6 NA you would need to make sure the 90 amp has a V belt and not a serp belt on it. I don't think I have seen v belts on the 90 amps. Or convert the water pump and crank pulleys to serp. I think I have seen one post doing that on a forum. Then making sure the bracket dimentions work. Any reason to going 90 amp? 65 should be plenty unless running a larger radio.
