I spent the day on my 82 Jetta GTD project today: replaced the blower fan, replaced a sticky wiper assembly and a few other things, also added a MK3 wiper relay so I can have real intermittent wipers at multiple speeds. Anyway, in the process I discovered two things: 1) I need the vacuum actuator for the fresh air intake (I think that this is the same one as is on the main flapper on the interior) and possibly the most important, I need an AC relay (the one with the fuse on top) I don't have the relay number right now but I will get that tomorrow. I think that the relay is out because my high speed on the fan doesn't work and it is the only one that goes through the relay. I also discovered that I wired my two speed radiator fan with after run wrong so I will fix that tomorrow. It took me nearly 2 hours to figure out the correct wiring, gaaaaaah I hate electrical problems. Any help would be great. BTW I have a perfectly good blower fan with resistor pack for cheap if someone wants it. You will have to add a plug because I needed that for myself.
I am also still having problems with my brakes. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get them to work properly. I have made a switch to Scirocco rear disc brakes with new rubber lines and I successfully bled the brakes so that there is no air in any of the lines. I replaced the rear brake proportioning valve because it was rusted out and leaking but no luck. If the brake vacuum assembly is screwed up will the brakes stay squishy or will they be hard? Once again, any help would be great. Hayden
