I had a slightly similar situation. It was the dimmer rheostat. I was able to fix it somehow, don't recall anymore. Hmmmm, wonder if Autozone has an ECU for my Passat. No luck finding a BK box for it so far. :-(

The suggestion about putting in some relays to run your headlights off of
s also a good one. I did that and noticed a large improvement in how
right my headlights are. It would also reduce the wear on your switch. I
ad a small issue with my switch, but a larger one with my fuse panel. I
iked getting the high draw out of that area completely. (I have a small
ater leak from the windshield area that doesn't help things.)

Not only did they have the headlight switch, but they also have the wiper
pump that I'd given up on finding. It looks like I should have the switch
in a week or so.
