Depends...
If you have a newer block, with bosses for the squirters then I suppose you could. It'd involve
facing, drilling, probably reaming and then drilling and tapping the mounting bolt holes. If the
bosses aren't there, there isn't enough meat to do it. I'd intended to do just that but there wasn't
enough material to install any so I did something that works just as well but requires a bigger
oil pump.
I drilled angled holes from 4 of the main bearing saddles. I aimed for the middle of the piston
when it was about mid travel. I drilled most of the way with about a 1/8" or slightly larger, bit.
Then I finished the last 3/8" of the hole with the same size as the oil squirters have. Don't
remember what that is now. I tested them with a garden hose while washing out all of any
metal filings. I was quite happy with the results. If they didn't work then all I had to do was not
drill oil access holes in the bearing shell, that would provide oil to the "squirters."

Subject: [Vwdiesel] oil squirters
Can oil squirters be installed on a NA block if the corresponding space on
he NA block is faced off to allow for the squirters to be installed like
hey are on the turbo block?
