[Vwdiesel] Engine Carnage Shots

One time after getting to the top of a ski mountain and skiing all day I turned the car on and my light came on for low coolant. I turned it off as soon as the light came on (at startup). Must of boiled over going up but not enough to where it triggered the light. I put some water in from the bathroom (top of a mountain-what else was I to do). I did add some straight coolant afterwards to makeup for straight water. Haven't touched for 50K miles. Couldn't figure out why it went low. I don't get why a person would ever ignor a light that comes on. I only do after I figure out the issue and then find out I can keep traveling. Seconds mater in some of the cases like oil/coolant.
