Hi Bill,
Been a while. How's that Quantum of yours? Mine just won't die, but my children are ashamed due to it's knock which I've isolated to #1 area. Just need to
find 2 days for a 4 hr job

I have written about this several years ago but I can't remember everything I have read either. Also, there maybe several new members who don't know
about this.
The slime you have is algae growth. It can occur if you have any water in your diesel fuel & the temperature of the fuel rises above 93 degrees F. I had read
about this in a publication titled Diesel Car Digest, as I recall back around 1979, but failed to follow that advice & learned the hard way on my then new 1979
Rabbit diesel. The cure is a biocide that treats this. There are several such treatments available at truck stops or marine (boat) supply stores.I bought a
product called Bio-Bar JH & I still have almost a can left, a lifetime supply. A couple drops per fill up are all that is needed. I would spike a diesel additive
made by Amsoil as they did not include any biocide. Have not had any problem since. I would also advise using some type of diesel additive unless you are
running biodiesel which provides greater lubrication.
