[Vwdiesel] Towing a Rabbit Pickup by the Front Bumper mounts?

This was going to be my answer too.  I loaded my bus on a tow dolly several times for a trip last fall with a come-a-long.  No issue at all.  And it only cost something like $35 at a home center.

I've also used AAA a few times to tow a car home that I bought (before I owned the tow dolly).  They want to see a tag on it but that's about it.  

So what I did both times was bring a current license tag from a vehicle I wasn't driving that day, and attach it to the new vehicle.  Then I just call them and ask for a tow.  They'll probably ask if they can just bring gas or give you a jump sometimes, but I just tell them I already know it isn't going to start, and I want it taken to my house so I can work on it.  I suppose there are theoretical ethical or legal issues with this route, but I'm paying for the service and the tow truck driver have never had any issues with it.

Tow dolly with a car without power is a piece of cake. Just use a
come-a-long and it'll go right up. I've done it plenty of times. Of course,
I also have one I can borrow without too much fuss, so that helps.
