I need to second the comments about Chinese stuff: while they may be
fine for (non-electric) disposable christmas ornaments, there is no way
in hell I would ever put a Chinese combustion product in a vehicle or
home. Unless you have spent a lot of time there and can understand
their culture, you can not fully appreciate how little something such
as actually making and representing the product ethically and
accurately means to a Chinese producer. 100% results oriented society
and culture.

Yessir(s)...you have all confirmed what I initially
suspected......They are available in several areas of N.America and
would opt for new.
Here is one place that had a pretty decent price
.I appreciate your "real use in the world" input.

I second what Pat said.
I have two Espar (Eberspacher) units in highway tractor units. These
sit in an unheated quonset, no power handy. In winter, one hour on
heat, the truck is toasty warm, They are exceedingly reliable, as were
the Eberspacher units in gas cars and busses I've owned over the years.
Parts. Every thing I have ever needed to replace on an Eberspacher has
been available, and I'm referring to the old stuff... the new ones have
been flawless.
I know of two Proheat units that have been replaced on friend's power
units due to unit catastrophic failure (heat exchanger failure/
collapse/overheat).
For my tastes, the ones made by the C.Hina company would need to be
either really inexpensive, to the point where you could replace a few
for the same price as one Espar to be worth considering. Unfortunately,
I have a rubbish bin full of really good deals from China that have
failed in use. For something that contains fire in normal usage, I
would consider that carefully before taking the plunge.

Based on the title of the thread I'd have to assume he is asking about
a diesel cabin heater for a Westy... I assume he's talking about a
Westfalia camper rather than a Westmoreland Rabbit...

From my air cooled days, Eberspacher always had a big leg up on
Webasto. In the modern diesel truck market, pretty close to a
draw (were you referring to air heater or water, gasoline or
diesel????)

Anybody out there have a preference or opinion on Webasto
VS.Espar. I
see that the SNUGGER from China is trying to make a splash as
well. Thanks in advance
