Well it has finally happened in the Dallas/Ft. Worth on a general basis all around the area. Diesel has dropped below $3. I just paid $2.83 to fill up the Grand Cherokee. Although a few places are hanging on above $3 most have dropped it down. This price drop is bound to knock the tarnish off of the “Texas Miracle Economy” and expose it as being mostly smoke and mirrors. Rig count in West Texas has dropped so low that some newspapers have stopped reporting it. I told my dad back in August that the bottom would fall out of oil prices soon because of the excess drilling and production. Having been in the oil business, I can tell you that it is very short term oriented AND they have a really short memory. The top guys in the companies are all bean counters now and all they care about it making as much money as fast as they can to bring their annual salaries up as high as they can. To hell with planning for the future of the company (sounds like most US corporations doesn’t it?) Too many rigs, too much production and a soft world economy equals a huge drop in oil prices. Oh well, lets enjoy it while we can. Sooner or later a new manufactured crisis will occur to cause oil speculators to push the prices back up well beyond where they should be. Hayden

"God is not a diviner being or a magician, but the creator who brought everything to life. Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of things that evolve.” Pope Pius XII
“There are many men of principle in both parties in America, but there is no party of principle.”
“I do not know if the people of the United States would vote for superior men if they ran for office, but there can be no doubt that such men do not run."
“I cannot help fearing that men may reach a point where they look on every new theory as a danger, every innovation as a toilsome trouble, every social advance as a first step toward revolution, and that they may absolutely refuse to move at all.” Alexis de Tocqueville
