[Vwdiesel] TDI too cold

especially with leather seats, heated seats are a must when it is super cold out.

I had the frost heater in to help pre-warm the TDI. Otherwise it would take around 25 miles to get full operating temps at 181 (read on a scan gauge II). The TD and NA engines warmed nicely when I wasn't in salt country. Having the Honda Odyssey is kind of nice getting operating temps within the 6.5 miles to work even at -20 outside. Strange. The cab is so big it doesn't do me much good at least I know the engine is getting where it should. 

Seat heaters help things on the TDI's.
