the second battery (behind front seat, on the floor with fake black plywood top), went in when i was having difficulty diagnosing a battery discharge. the second batt was used to jump the car batt. it morphed into a parallel tie in to which iadded an gauge to moniter the charge level.
turns out that i have a intermittent failure of the excitor (12 vt charge to alt)wire and so the alt was not livening up and charging.
i like the idea of a second batt and want to wire it in with a disconnect device i have seen on some boats and antiqueautos.
thanks for the wix info loren, on some trucks lower fuel pressure can result from a clogged fuel filter. how do we know the status of our vw fuel filters, or is it just a miles of use change.
