[Vwdiesel] Limp mode

I bought a used one for a project and overall, cleaning it wasn't bad (of course it was off and on
the bench). I did pull it apart a couple more times to clean/polish the movements of it. I felt it just
took too much effort to move it. But then mine had been sitting and was a bit corroded. Getting yours off is probably the hard part.
IIRC Andrew has a tutorial on them, which is what I used when tearing into mine.
What's the noise?
Noticeable reduced power has always been limp mode in our cars. Runs fine in limp mode, just doesn't have the power. Doesn't seem to get quite the mpg either.

Subject: Re: [Vwdiesel] Limp mode
Been too busy/exhausted lately to think about the car. Sadly, I'm
probably
going to have to rent (a gas) one for my upcoming trip. No limp
mode
lately, but still noise and reduced power. I've ordered an N75 and an
MAF.
Not super expensive and easy to replace.
What was your experience cleaning
the turbo vanes? I've read summaries of
techniques including oven cleaner. How
was getting the unit off/on?
Really tight back there.

I have had vanes stick in ALH, and it does exactly as you have described.
